Catcher in the Rye is overrated because Holden Caulfield is such a spoiled brat he is sad that his brother died

Boy, it's finally time to take that overrated piece of crap down. That's right; I'm looking at you Catcher in the Rye. Great American classic yea right The entire book is overrated. I mean look at this Holden Caufield jerk, the main character. Have you ever seen a more unlikable protagonist? I mean can you believe that he is sad about his brother dying and is having an emotional breakdown during the weekend? That's bullshit. When young children die you should care about it as little as possible.

Clearly Holden Caulfield is Privilege because poor people have little time to care they have kids die all the time and they don't care about it. I mean you got your poor person and you say to him, "Hey, how do you feel about your kid brother who died?" And all they have to say is, "It's another one, not that big of a deal. It's just everyday living. Don't worry about it. One poor person less. It's just a thing." I'm pretty sure they would say something like that. I wouldn't know. I went to Harvard.

I mean, Holden Caufield's parents are so rich that after his brother dies they can just send him away to prestigious boarding schools. It's obvious and clear that in the end the only people that could like Catcher in the Rye are pretentious people who get all uppity when their loved ones die instead of us regular people who could care less. Just remember like most great things, the true final word comes from Glenn Quagmire, the brilliant postmodern  deconstructionist from Family Guy.
