Kratos' maturing is somehow considered unrelatable to God of War's core fanbase.
In the new God of War game, God of War ... something, the main character Kratos, who up to that point had been a beautiful, beautiful slab of a man, is now older and has a son.
This, of course, deeply hurt the majority of his fan base who, surprise surprise, don't seem to like the message of their once vengeful ... Don't seem to like the implicit idea that the rage filled, wrath-filled Kratos has maybe moved on from obsessing over the old things, and has maybe grown up, and moved on from the things that he used to do, and now has a family, and other responsibilities. That's freaking crazy.
What? How would those two things connect? Why would video gamers not like their characters maturing and growing up? Is there something about them?
