Adventures in the Pirate Continent: Episode One - A Ship Sinking On The High Seas!

Dylan looked out on the the very scary looking ocean as she would like to and very bravely hung off the bow in this night that had a wonderful sense of doom around it. Did Dylan care about that? No! She was now a grown up who had a whole glass of wine (she checked she was well past the legal age in Greece). Even say 2, 3, days ago this orgy of waves and lightning would have sent her hyper-ventilating. Now, yes, she was doing it.

Lies! All lies! She only hung off the bow for a second before she safely tucked her self back under the covers of her bed in her cabin and fell asleep watching a Greek language sci-fi show, Boris the Talking Puffin in Space.

This would have been the rest of her life (literally) if Becky the tour guide (who was just a lovely person) had not run screaming past Dylan’s cabin, and as nice person she had run out to see what was wrong. She saw every single person desperately running. Somebody in Greek yelled, “Quick. Quick. Run.”

Dylan followed suit and joined the herd as they ran to the cruise ship’s lifeboats. But she couldn’t help it; she had to look back to see what it was. Was it a tidal wave? Had somehow an iceberg grown in the middle of the Mediterranean? She took one quick look back. She perceived only the flesh of something big and glistening and terrible. And that was enough for Dylan.

She ran as fast as she could as the ship began to crack and sink into the briny depths of the sea. Her adrenaline propelled her so much that she was in fact the first to get to a lifeboat. She waited and waited for the other passengers, but the ship was going down too fast, and she was the only one who made it to a lifeboat before the entire ship sank into the middle of the Atlantic.
